About

Immad Akhund is the co-founder and CEO of Mercury. A serial founder, he started Mercury in 2017 after years of firsthand frustration banking his previous companies — and built the thing he wished had existed. Today, 1 in 3 U.S. startups bank* with Mercury, which serves more than 300,000 entrepreneurs, has reached $650M in annualized revenue, and has been GAAP profitable for more than four years. Immad is a former part-time partner at Y Combinator and is one of Silicon Valley’s more prolific early-stage investors, with more than 350 bets on companies including Rippling, Airtable, Applied Intuition, and Substack.

*Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC. The "1 in 3 startups" figure is based on US-based companies that received an angel, pre-seed, seed, or Series A investment reported on Crunchbase in the most recent year.
